Suggested Bible Study and Prayers
(Passages that we will refer to in next Sunday's worship)

2 Kings 22
We thank You, O Lord, for a surprisingly wonderful day of relief. We thank You for righteous children that come from homes that seemed to be committed to idolatry and sin. Grant that Your church will rediscover Your Word even in our day. Grant that we will be grieved concerning our rebellion against You. Help us to have a godly response to the troubles that we face. Have mercy on us. You know that Your church has so often forsaken You. If You were not true to Your great promises, we surely would have been destroyed long ago.

Judges 2
Father God, we have been delivered from the bondage of sin, yet we have not obeyed Your voice as we should. We thank You for the measure of sanctification that You have granted to us already, but we are ashamed of our sin. Help us to remember day by day what Your Son has accomplished for us. If we forget You, we will surely worship idols and turn down paths that will be both fruitless and dangerous. We thank You for our great Deliverer and Savior Jesus Christ. Send Him to us when we would be foolish and lazy, and turn us back to the way of Your Word. Father, in our current weakness and sin there is a test that is too difficult for us to pass. Fill us with Your Spirit that we might serve You as redeemed men, and not as foolish beasts.

Colossians 3
Father, we are with Christ in heavenly realms. Therefore we earnestly seek those things which are above. Help us to turn away from all ugly thoughts, words, and actions. These will do us no good. Help us to put on compassion, forgiveness, and love. May the peace of Your Son and the dignity of His Word dwell in our hearts richly as we sing to You with joy. Help us to live appropriately in all relationships, particularly within our families. We want to serve You, O God, for Your Son died for us, and we are alive in Him.
